About Alexandria Extrusion Company and their award-winning practices -
Alexandria Extrusion Company, Alexandria MN
– Alexandria Extrusion Company is an ISO 9001:2000 certified supplier of precision aluminum extrusions. Celebrating its 40th year in business this year, the company offers custom aluminum extrusion products with the highest degree of quality and tightest tolerances afforded through the aluminum extrusion process. In addition to extrusion services, the company offers complete CNC machining, fabrication, assembly and finishing services.

Safety has been and continues to be an important part of Alexandria Extrusion Company’s (AEC) culture. In 2003, OSHA awarded AEC with the prestigious MNSTAR award for safety. The company has not, however, rested on its laurels since then. Instead, Safety Committees at AEC continue to make significant ergonomic improvements and they have implemented a stretching program for employees prior to the start of their shift. They have implemented incentive programs for injury reduction and for turning in hazard concern forms, focusing on prevention of injuries. These safety efforts have greatly reduced exposure to risk and improved financial performance through dividends from their self-insured workers compensation carrier and significant reduction in lost work day cases. A recent employee survey showed that 90% of employees felt that safety goals were well communicated.

Other award recipients were Colder Products Company in St. Paul, MN and Vetter Stone in Mankato, MN. Colder Products received the award for its new employee orientation and onboarding program, and Vetter Stone for its ongoing safety awareness program.
